Surfin' Around

I've spent most of the day surfing the internet, with breaks every now and then to answer the phone or some other task. Not a bad way to pass time, especially when I am getting paid for it. I won't complain.

I thought I'd pass on a few things I found interesting. Note: Any pages I link are not necessarily indicative of my personal views. They are merely mentioned because I find them interesting, or feel that my readers may find them interesting. I will not exclude a site from my links because it conflicts with my personal views, unless I find it appallingly offensive (i.e. blatant satanism).

Tell me what you think about this guy who is suing four fast food chains for making him fat. Big Fat Blog, a blog that links to and gives opinions on articles dealing with fat, comments on the issue. The whole site is pretty interesting, really. It provides a really fresh and different perspective to the whole weight issue that has become so prevalent in our society. It takes the stance that being overweight is not necessarily unhealthy, ugly, or bad; and it defends this stance very convincingly.

I thought this idea for Dear Moron letters is brilliant. Sounds like something I would do! Maybe I will. I imagine it would be a great outlet for venting about all the stupid things people do to piss me off.

If you are really bored or easily amused (also, I would imagine this would be tremendously entertaining if you were drunk, or maybe high), try playing with the rabbit. One of the internet's silly little pleasures. Link courtesy of quixotical.org.

Internet Vagina

No, not porn.

While surfing aimlessly around the internet, I found a site called All About My Vagina. I am not even going to attempt to explain. If you are curious, go see it for yourself (by the same token, if you are offended or disgusted by this, do not visit the site). I have no opinion on it, so don't bother asking what I think of it. I am still sort of stunned. Anyway, that's all I have to say about that. Just thought I'd share.

The Night the Fish Drowned

Last night I went with the folks to see the Marlins game. Mom likes to go when the Cardinals are in town, even though Mark McGwire (her obsession) doesn't play anymore. Well, the game started off really boring with several innings of no score. The most interesting part was when the Cardinals scored two homeruns in a row. That was pretty exciting. Needless to say, my mom was going nuts. They scored on the Marlins 3 more times, and the Marlins scored a big fat whopping zero runs. My poor Marlins. It was sad to see how empty the stadium was, too. Although, it is nice to not have to deal with hordes of people (I hate crowds).

The trip to Pro Player Stadium brought back memories of the last time I was there, in December for the Dolphins/ Colts Monday night game, with Gail and JD. That night was so much fun it was ridiculous. We were at the very top row, but by golly, we were loaded, the Dolphins kicked the crap out of the Colts, and we had a blast. It was worth missing AbFab for (well, I taped it, so I didn't miss it entirely).

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

I had another lovely weekend with my sweetie. We met at the Gardens Mall on Friday evening and had dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen, yummy!! Saturday, he took me to Busch Gardens, and we had such a groovy time!! We both really enjoyed seeing all of the animals. It was kind of a bummer, though, that we only got to go on one roller coaster. We went on the Kumba, which of course was great. We were very disappointed to see the sign that said the Gwazi was closed. We were in line for the Montu, and it started storming (thunder, lightning, and everything), so they had to shut it down, and our time spent in line was wasted. Well, the storm only lasted about 10 minutes, but when we came back later (and the weather was clear, and everything else was open), it was closed! Well, it was getting close to closing time, and we wanted one last roller coaster ride, and since the Gwazi and Montu were apparently closed, we decided to try for the Kumba. We rode the skyride across the park only to find that the Kumba was closed (not sure why). Oddly enough, we saw from afar that the Gwazi was running. It was all the way on the other side of the park, and by now only 15 minutes left to closing time, so we ran across the park, only to find that we were too late, by about a minute or so. Oh well, at least it was good exercise. It was upsetting, though, because Chris has never been on the Gwazi. All in all, though, it was a great day. While watching the dolphin show, I decided it would be fun to be a dolphin trainer. They are such amazing animals, and it would be a thrill to work with them, and get inside their heads. Check out the pictures in Steph's World.

After our visit to the park, we met up with Jen and Mike for dinner at Garfield's. It was nice to see them again, and we had a nice dinner. It was nice to be able to chat, since last time we saw them was at the wedding, and of course there was little opportunity for catching up.

On Sunday, we went and saw Austin Powers: Goldmember. Laughed our arses off! hehehe Great stuff. For dinner, we made salmon and it turned out so yummy! We seasoned it with garlic and basil and baked it with some tomatoes seasoned with the same. On the side, we had garlic breadsticks, garlic and olive oil cous cous (can you tell we like garlic??), a tasty salad, and sweet, delicious carrots in a butter and brown sugar glaze. It's so much fun to cook with Chris; we make such a great team!

Anagram Genius

While reading Kat's Mindspillage I found a link to Anagram Genius, which has been keeping me amused for hours. My name anagrams to "Beer pays inanest hen" or "Hereby an insane pest." The name of this page anagrams to "A poor lush, a soulful lube." For anyone who is easily amused or really bored, I recommend you visit and make some anagrams of your own.

The Friday Five

The Friday Five

1. How long have you had a weblog? Since December 2001. It's still just a baby blog!

2. What was your first post about? Hmm, I'd have to check, but probably a generic, "Hey look, this is my new weblog." (checking... ) Ok, my first post, written on December 14, 2001, at 7:10 AM EST, was about how I couldn't sleep, decided to start blogging, was starting my Christmas break from school, and was excited to see Chris that evening.

3. How many changes (name, location, etc.) of your weblog have there been, if more than one? Well, I have never changed the name or location, but I have changed the layout. If I remember correctly, I have only made one major change.

4. What CMS (content management system) do you use? Do you like it or do you want to try something else? I use Blogger, and it has been fine for me, for now. It's convenient that I can post to Blogspot, since I don't have my own domain.

5. Do you read people who have both a journal and a weblog? Or do you prefer to read people who have all of their writing in one central place? I don't really get hung up on categorizing which is which, I just read what I find amusing. I do prefer, however, when all the writing is in one central place. I don't feel that it's necessary, in most cases, to keep a seperate journal and weblog.

Voice Mail

While I'm at work answering phone calls, people often call and ask for someone who is not available at that particular moment. Sometimes these folks have a hard time dealing with the fact that people are *not* sitting by their desks 24/7 doing nothing but eagerly awaiting for that person to call them. Occaisionally, people have to leave the office or take other calls. Thus, the invention called voice mail. Now, a reasonable person would assume that if they end up in someone's voice mail, they would assume that that person is not available and would leave a message. What an unreasonable person would do is call back and tell me that they got the voicemail and ask if the person they were calling is available. DUH!! Obviously, if you got the voicemail, that person is NOT available. Don't bother me with stupid questions (if only I were allowed to actually say that, hehe). You'd be amazed by how many people do this. Just leave a voicemail, and SHUT UP! If they don't return your call in a reasonable amount of time, sure, call back; but don't call right back and ask if they are available, please. Geez people. Now, occaisionally one of these folks has something urgent to say and cannot wait for their call to be returned, and calls back to ask for that person's cell phone number. Now, that is somewhat understandable (although in most cases, it seems as though if that person wanted you to reach them, they would have already given you the cell number). Acting confused by voicemail is *not* understandable. Come on people, this is the twenty-first century. Really.

Time of Crisis

The internet connection is down. While "crisis" may seem too strong a word, in my world, losing the internet connection certainly turns everything upside down. I feel so isolated from the world. I cannot check my e-mail, cannot surf the web, cannot keep current on what is going on in the outside world. I cannot fill out Cellie's survey (yes, another Cellie survery - it's been a while!) like I told her I would when I got the chance. I cannot stimulate my mind by reading Kat's unique and amusing interpretations of the world around her (or, if she hasn't posted, leave a complaint about how she is not attending to my needs).

*Pause to check the connection*

Woohoo, would ya look at that, it's back up!! I was afraid this would go on all day, bur fortunately I have only had to endure an hour of suffering. All right, perhaps I am being a bit dramatic, but my life is just that sad! ;-)

Guess Who Is Pregnant!

Not me, don't get hysterical. My wife is going to be a mommy! And it's not mine! See what happens when she runs off and marries a man?? I am not as much shocked by her being pregnant (I knew they wanted to have kids sooner or later, although I was expecting later rather than sooner, as were they I believe) as by her waiting three months to tell me!! She has been pregnant since April, and she just told me on Friday!

I got a phone call from Candice while I was on my was to visit Chris on Friday, and I thought, "Oh, what a pleasant surprise, I haven't heard from Candice in forever." I had no idea that, in addition to neglecting me, she had been withholding big news from me! When she found out why I was going to see Chris and not stopping by to see her on the way, I said, "Yeah... I am going to stop by Jacksonville on my way from West Palm Beach to Vero." (If you don't know Florida well, Jax is WAY past Vero coming from WPB). Evidently, she thought Chris was still in North Carolina this summer. I sure am glad he's not. I have really enjoyed the convenience of him only being about 90 miles away for these last few months.

Anyway, Candice had called me a few months back (in May, if I remember correctly) and asked for my home phone number, but had never called. Now, Al has been telling her on a regular basis, "You better call Stephanie." Last week, I was thinking I hadn't heard from her in a while, and I would send her a letter. I was even going to send a snail-mail, since I know she doesn't go online much anymore, and I thought it would be fun to send her a cute card or decorative stationery. However, I got the call from her before I got around to writing the letter. Now I don't know whether to send her one that says, "Congratulations on your pregnancy," or "You brat, I can't believe you didn't share your big news with me right away! Andyoucallyourselfmyfriend. Hmmph!"

Well, at least I can take comfort in know that she has not told anyone else from Stetson yet. That way I know she is just too lazy to call anyone, rather than intentionally excluding me from her news. Although I certainly would have told her right away if I had big news to share! Anyway, Candice, if you are reading this, congratulations to you & Al. Don't you ever hide things from me again, you brat!! No excuses!

A Most Groovy Weekend

Well, I had a fabulous weekend with Chris. It was so nice to just get so much quality time with him. His mere presence just makes me feel happy and comfortable. I arrived in Vero on Friday night, and he took me to dinner at a restaurant called The Lemon Tree. Before dinner, we both enjoyed the lobster bisque and the delicious sourdough bread. For our meal, I had scallops Florentine, and he had Moroccan chicken, and both dishes were delightful. Our dining experience colcluding with a light and refreshing helping of lemon sorbet. Yummy! After dinner, we took a walk along the boardwalk by the beach. Very enjoyable. Later on that evening, we watched the movie "Corky Romano." Funny movie. If you haven't seen it, and you're in the mood to laugh, go get it.

Saturday began with a breakfast at Bob Evans. We spent most of the day shopping and running errands, with a late-afternoon break for lunch. We got some ice cream at a shop near the beach, and thought we'd eat it outside. Although it was a little overcast and not as hot as it could have been, the ice cream melted quickly and I ended up with metled rocky road all over my hands. So much for leisurely licking ice cream while enjoying the beach view. I had to inhale the cone as quickly as possible! That night we went out with Amanda and some of her friends to celebrate her birthday. We ate at Legal Seafood in CityPlace. Chris had the wood-grilled shrimp and I had the wood-grilled swordfish. Yummy!! After dinner we went to Have A Nice Day Cafe (on Datura & Olive), and had a really great time!! That was Chris' first time there, and he really enjoyed the decorative detail and atmosphere. I, of course, danced like a loon, and Chris played along and danced with me. That's what I love about him... he always enjoys me, even when I am acting silly. He is not self-conscious and afraid to have a good time. He's the grooviest!! He pointed out and older (40 or 50ish) couple on the dance floor boogeying down and said, "That'll be us when we're older." Hehe, that's my sweetie! :-)

The funniest thing about the night was when we were at CityPlace discussing where to go, and Amanda was decribing the club, she was telling Chris that they play music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, especially stuff like (singing), "She's a brick... house." So we went downtown and as we were walking up to the club, that very song was playing. We all got a kick out of that amusing coincidence.

Sunday was a nice day as well, despite stormy weather. Chris and I went out for Mexican food for lunch; amd it was quite good. We watched "The Fifth Element," which I had only seen once and years ago, and enjoyed it. We played some Bach duets (well, really excertps from Bach cantatas that had two oboe parts) before I had to go. I enjoyed every moment I spent with my sweetie, and it made me sad to have to leave. I enjoy his company so much, and I can never get enough of him!!

The Osbournes

I was reading an article on CNN.com about Sharon Osbourne's cancer, and they described the TV show "The Osbournes" as "the show that follows the chaotic daily exploits of the foul-mouthed family." I found that description to be pretty amusing (as well as accurate). Now, I have only *attempted* to watch the show once, and truly did not find it entertaining. It was irritating to not be able to hear much of what they were saying due to "beep beep beep." They have to bleep so much out that it ends up covering up a lot of the non-swear words as well. It is virtually impossible to decipher any intelligible conversation. Maybe I didn't try hard enough to get it, but it just didn't seem to be worth the effort. If you have watched The Osbournes, let me know what your thoughts on the show are.

Survey time!!

Found this one at Mixed Grill while surfing around randomly.

NAME:

Steph

AGE:

22

CURRENTLY RESIDE:

South Florida

ZODIAC SIGN:

Aries

BIRTH DATE:

March 29, 1980

ANY SIBLINGS?

A younger brother named Mike.

SMOKE?

No. I used to, once in a while, but I haven't smoked at all in quite a while.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN GOD?

Yes!

WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT ANNOYS YOU?

Well, this could go on forever... for one thing, anyone who drives worse than I do.

WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT IN LIFE?

Leading a good, honest life; making a positive contribution to the world; enjoying oneself; loving and being loved; and doing it all for the glory of God.

CHOCOLATE, STRAWBERRY OR VANILLA?

Depends on my mood (as do most decisions). Usually, chocolate is my favortie. Mmm, I want some chocolate now. I think I have some mini Snickers around here somewhere...

DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE FAST?

HA! If you know me, you do NOT need to ask this! I drive like a maniac. I have been working on the whole patience thing, though.

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WOULD DO WITH A MILLION DOLLARS?

Well, the first thing I would probably do is buy instruments!! I'd buy a bassoon, an oboe d'amore, a new sax, and an alto flute and piccolo for Chris.

ARE STORMS SCARY OR COOL FOR YOU?

Sometimes lightning is cool to watch from a distance, but for the most part, storms are an annoyance. They don't become scary to me until they are bad enough to be dangerous. As a native Floridian, I am pretty accustomed to storms!

WHAT TYPE WAS YOUR FIRST CAR?

A forest green 1994 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight. A great car that only lived for 2 months after my parents gave it to me, thanks to a red Honda Civic whose driver was going too fast in the rain.

DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE?

I enjoy driving when the traffic isn't bad and I can move along at a steady pace. When there is a lot of traffic, it stresses me out.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM CAR?

Silly as it may sound, I would love to have a Volkswagen Beetle. They are so adorable!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DRINK?

Good wine.

DO YOU EAT THE STEMS OF BROCCOLI?

Yes.

IF YOU COULD DYE YOUR HAIR ANY COLOR?

I would dye it purple, a deep violet shade.

WHAT'S ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO?

Spend time with my sweetie. :-)

FAVORITE MUSIC:

Classical music, classic rock, Aerosmith, the Beatles, swing (both old and new); I just love music, so I could go on and on...

ARE YOU SHY OR OUTGOING?

Most of the time I am pretty outgoing, but at times, especially in new situations with new people, I can be shy.

WOULD YOU SAY YOU'RE FUNNY?

Well, people are always laughing at me...

ARE YOU A REBEL OR DO YOU FOLLOW THE RULES?

I follow rules that make sense to me. Otherwise, screw the rules.

FAVORITE MOVIES

The Breakfast Club, Good Will Hunting, Forrest Gump, Austin Powers (both), A Beautiful Mind

FAVORITE LIST OF TV SHOWS

M*A*S*H, The West Wing, The Daily Show, Saturday Night Live, Emeril

WHAT'S ONE THING YOU DON'T DO ENOUGH OF?

Practicing.

IF YOU WERE NOT DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING NOW,
WHAT WOULD YOUR CAREER BE?

I'm still a student, so my career is not *exactly* defined as of right now. However, if I weren't in music, I would like to go into acting or (if I were funnier) comedy. I still think Kat and I should team up. She could do the writing, and I could perform it. Between her clever sense of humor and my willingness to make an ass of myself in public, we could be great.

IF YOU COULD WAKE UP TOMORROW IN THE BODY AND LIFE OF SOMEONE ELSE FOR JUST A DAY, WHOM MIGHT IT BE?

Hmm, that's a good question that I should probably put some deep though into. Right off the top of my head, I would say Chris. I think seeing things from his perspective would help me to understand him better and strengthen our relationship. Like Freaky Friday, lol!!

FAVORITE CARTOON CHARACTERS AND SHOWS AS A CHILD?

I was really into Scooby Doo. I am delighted to see that it has made a comeback! It is so much better than a lot of the stupid crap they are producing now (i.e. Teletubbies, who are just scary). I was also into (and still am!) Looney Toons. So clever, and I love the way the music is part of the story.

FAVORITE COLOR:

Purple!! My favorite shade is a depp bluish-purple, followed by lavendar. I get in red moods too, but purple is my passion.

DO YOU GET ALONG WITH YOUR PARENTS?

Ha! Does anybody??? Well, we get along most of the time I suppose. A lot better when I am not living with them. Home is a nice place to visit.

FAVORITE FOODS?

Sushi. Mmmm. Also, chocolate covered strawberries and Italian food.

ADVICE TO OTHERS WOULD BE...?

Don't drive too fast in the rain.

Junk Mail Rant & Friday Five

I rememember when, not long after its creation and popularization, junk mail reared its ugly head on e-mail. Since then, the probem just keeps getting worse and worse, and despite junk mail filters and whatnot, there is still a lot of unwanted crap finding its way into inboxes. It's just now, however, that I began to realize how much junk mail gets sent by fax. Makes me sort of glad that I don't have a fax machine. (Don't even get me started on telemarketering...)

The Friday Five:

1. Where were you born? Fort Lauderdale, FL

2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not? Well, I still live in South Florida, and it's pretty much close enough that it doesn't make a difference. I would like to be able to stay in Florida, I love it here. However, the grad school I am going to is in NY, so I have to move. I suppose I will get used to it. Everyone says, "Oh, you will love New York!" Hmm, we'll see about that when winter comes.

3. Where in the world do you feel the safest? In my sweetie's arms. :-)

4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? No, not at all!! I hardly ever get out. I have never left the country, and not even seen much of it. I can count on one hand how many times I have left the southeast. I would LOVE to travel though!! That is one of my most important goals in life.

5. Where is the most interesting place you've been? I would probably have to say the Grand Canyon (which is also the farthest I have ever been). It was December, and it was covered in snow (which was the only time I have ever seen snow!) and it was gorgeous. Another place that ranks up there is the Blue Ridge Parkway going through the Smoky Mountain National park. Breathtaking.

Well, I hope that makes everyone happy who seeks entertainment while working, or whatever! :-) If I think of anything else to say, or find something amusing to link to, I will be sure to post again later!!

Q & A

Monday Mission from lexxicon.net

1. Have you ever sold anything through an online auction? What did you sell and did you make very much? I tried to sell my student-model on e-bay, but to no avail (for one thing, I didn't really know what I was doing). It is now for sale on the Charles Double Reed Company Website. It is listed as Armstrong Plastic Student Model #42-00023 in the used oboes section. It is a great student oboe that got me through high school, and I am selling it for a very reasonable price!

2. Have you ever bought anything through an online auction? How was your experience? No, I have not.

3. Do you like the sun? Getting a suntan? Have you ever had a bad sunburn? I just love the sun! I suppose I ought to, living in the Sunshine State. I do enjoy getting a suntan. I have had a bad sunburn, and I have learned to be more careful!! Well, except for that one time in early March. Chris and I were out canoeing at the springs, and it was the first warm, sunny weekend of the year, and we were only out for an hour. I hadn't thought about sunscreen or sunburns or the like in many months (really hadn't seen the light of day in quite a while, sadly), so we didn't even realize we were getting burned. I got the worst of it, and right before my senior recital hearing. I was so burned it made me nauseated. Not fun.

4. Are you a vegetarian? Why? If not, have you ever considered it? No I am not, and I have never seriously considered it. I have thought about cutting down on high-fat meats for health purposes, and I am really disturbed about some of the cruelties that take place in the meat industry, but I am essentially omniverous.

5. Suppose you are getting into your car after you've just made your purchase from a store you visit twice a week. You suddenly realize you had a .35ยข item in your hand and you forgot to pay for it. What would you do next? (what *would* you do, not what *should* you do) I would indeed go back and pay for it. I am a fundamentally honest person. However, if I were really in a hurry, I might wait until my next visit to that store to pay for it. I really would pay for it, though.

6. Sometimes it seems that there is just not enough time to do everything that must be done. Was there anything you wanted to accomplish this weekend that didn't get done? Nope, my primary goal for the weekend was to go to Tampa to visit Melissa and have a great time. I accomplished this, and I am happy about it. :-)

7. What is your favorite game to play with a group and/or an individual? (board game, computer game, athletic, etc.) As a tribute to my Stetson days, "I Never..." was always a great game. So was "Asshole." The drunker we are, the better!! (Within reason, of course)

BONUS: One headline why believe it? I believe very little without concrete evidence.

Yes, I know it is neither Monday nor Friday, but do you really expect me to do things exactly when I am supposed to?? geez...

Steph

Can you tell I'm bored??

Another past Friday Five! (June 17)

1. How often do you do laundry? When I run out of clean underwear. I hate doing laundry, and I usually put it off as long as possible, especilly when I have to go to the laundromat to do it. When I can do it at home (i.e. when I'm at my parents's house), it's not such a dreaded task. I really hate ironing, though. I am so grateful for the Downy wrinkly spray so I hardly ever have to iron! There are, however, a few items on which I cannot use the wrinkle spray. My silk blouse, for one... bummer.

2. What's in a typical wash load? uhhh... clothes, sheets, and towels...

3. Front or top loader? Powder or liquid detergent? Usually top loader. I prefer liquid detergent since there is a slightly lower tendency for it to end up all over my car (although powder detergent spilled all over the trunk does provide a nice, fresh scent).

4. Do you use fabric softener in the rinse cycle? Yes, when I remember. I love it when the machine has an automatic fabric softener dispenser! Sometimes I use a Downy ball if it doesn't.

5. Dryer or clothesline? Dryer, except for the delicates. Although I refuse to spend a lot of money on the dryer. If it doesn't dry after the first cycle (in the laundromat) I will bring it home and hang it up rather than feed an infinite amount of quarters into the machine. I think the machines on Stetson's campus were intentionally rigged to not dry clothes on the first cycle in order to rip students off of even more of our money. The (one and only for 16 people) dryer in the Zeta house was especially piss-poor.

Catching up on Friday Fives

A past Friday Five (from June 21) since I have not posted in a while!

1. Do you live in a house, an apartment or a condo? I live in a van down by the river. Not really... a house.

2. Do you rent or own? Neither! I stay there for free! Can't beat that. :-)

3. Does anyone else live with you? Yes, my parents and my dog, Ebony.

4. How many times have you moved in your life? Oh my, well if you count major moves (i.e. moving to a whole new town), 2. However, if you count all the moves back and forth while I was in college, that would bring the count up to 8. I am about to move again next month! Argh, I hate moving. This one is going to be a bitch. All the way to New York, and I am very limited on what I can bring. At least I don't have to worry about moving furniture or anything.

5. What are your plans for this weekend? My sweetie is coming to see me!!! :-D We will probably go out with Amanda for her birthday.

Cowspotting on Route 60

OK, so I have not posted in quite some time. It's not so much that I have been a slacker, or been too busy (yeah, ROFL from those of you who know what my summer has been like), but more like I haven't really had all that much to say. Well, I have a little more going on now, and hopefully a thing or two interesting to say.

I've been catching up on reading Kat's Page. If you haven't yet read her Mathematical Definitions, I highly recommend. Quite entertaining, even for those of us who aren't math geeks. Ridiculously clever.

I have been working, finally bringing in money rather than just allowing it to move out of my modest bank account. It would be nice to go to NY and not be broke. Let's see how that turns out.

This past weekend I spent with Melissa in Tampa. She had been asking me to visit her for quite some time, and I finally did, and was very glad I did. It's quite a drive from here, but I put on a book on tape, and just cruised on over. We had a great time, it was really worth making the trip. Furthermore, I found two pairs of jeans on sale at the Gap, one for $10 and the other for $12. Such a deal! Also, a cute striped halter top for $10. What a thrill. We had dinner at the Crazy Buffet. Wow. I have never seen so much good food!! I filled up on sushi, stir-fry, crab legs, and other delicious food while we enjoyed live piano music. Incredible.

We were too tired to go out that night, so we made it a Blockbuster night. Watched "Orange County." Hi-larious. The next day we barbequed some chicken (with Jack Daniels Grilling Souce... mmm) and watched "Dead Man on Campus." I made my fabulous roasted potatoes for her, and she liked them so much she asked me for the recipe. I really went hog-wild on the garlic on this particular occasion. Imagine me doing that!!

Last weekend was Jen and Mike's wedding. It was such an emotional moment to see my Double Reed Sister getting married!! My little Jenny is all grown up! It was a really nice wedding, and she looked so beautiful! Chris came with me, and it was really nice that he got to meet some of my old friends, like Clark, Angie, and Jen, and he even got to meet Mr. St. It made us think of one day when we will get married, once we finish school and actually live in the same state!! It is so hard being far away from my sweetie. I just want to be with him every minute of my life!! Luckily, he feels the same way. :-) It has been so nice that we have gotten to see each other so much this summer. We've had a great time doing all sorts of things together. We spent the Fourth of July together with his family, and it was especially nice watching the fireworks together over the Indian River. Eariler in the summer, we went to Orlando for a day and partied with some of Annora's friends, and did some shopping the next day. He was so wonderful while we were shopping. He offered to buy me new shoes, and was amazingly patient as I tried on just about every pair in every store in the shopping center. He is certainly an angel, and I will surely keep him!! Going to the beach together and walking in the sand is another fond memory. We have done other random things like bowling and mini-golf. Anything we do together is fun. I enjoy his company so much. I know, you are going to be sick. Tough. Deal with it. Why is it that affection bothers people so much and nastiness and violence is somehow palatable? The world baffles me sometimes.
