Cold and Rainy

Just when I thought the spring weather was finally here, the temperatures have dropped again. Boo. I was planning on walking to my student's house today since my car is still in the shop, but it's supposed to rain all day. That sucks.

Thank you to my few friends (in addition to my family and Chris of course) who remembered my birthday: Melissa, Candice, Kristin, and Nicole. I had a crappy birthday anyway, but it's nice to know someone cares. The ice cream cake did help to make the day a little less crappy... thanks Kristin. :-) She was even nice enough to put "21" candles on it.

It's my birthday, yay, happy birthday to me. Car's broken, expensive repairs, yippee skippy.

I put up this page for Chris and Tom's duo. Check it out.

Friday Five

If you...

1. ...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve? I would love to own a restaurant!! I would serve pizza - I love making pizza! I also enjoy making barbecue, roasted poultry, and Mexican and Italian foods. I guess it would be somewhat eclectic. I like making sushi, but I would only serve sushi at the restaurant if I got good enough at it to make it look as good as it tastes. Sushi has to be picturesque, and that's a real skill.

2. ...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell? Either a nick-knack store or a music store.

3. ...wrote a book, what genre would it be? Mystery.

4. ...ran a school, what would you teach? Well I would teach music, duh, that's what I do teach. I suppose this means I have to run the whole school, in which case I would have a balanced curriculum of academics, arts, and athletics. My athletics program would have more of a fitness emphasis than a competitive emphasis, and I certainly wouldn't put 90% of the school's budget into recruiting football players. I would definitely have a huge emphasis on art being for everyone, not just people who are artistically talented or wealthy.

5. ...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it? Oh I would definitely record a pop album, and try to sound as much like Britney Spears as possible. I wouldn't bother learning to read music, sing well, or play an instrument. I would just give the public the crap they went to hear and use my fabulous body to sell the album. Maybe I'll see if Paris Hilton will collaborate with me.

The recital went well, for the most part. It was really fun having everyone up there, and we had a great time sightseeing on Saturday. We saw the Statue of Liberty, ground zero, ate at a wonderful restaurant in Little Italy called Rocky's, and the Empire State Building. I am glad to be in Florida on spring break now, it's so beautiful here. I hope winter is finished by the time I go back to New York on Monday!

Friday Five

Wow, this week has gone by so fast. I have been so busy!! My recital is tonight. Chris' family and my family (minus Mike) are here, and Candice and Shelly are here.

1. What was the last song you heard? Not actually a song, but we were listening to a Lucarelli CD in the car, and the last piece that was on was the Bach G Minor Sonata.

2. What were the last two movies you saw? The Passion of the Christ and 50 First Dates

3. What were the last three things you purchased? Food, gas, manicure & pedicure.

4. What four things do you need to do this weekend? My recital!! Entertain my guests, pack, and go home.

5. Who are the last five people you talked to? Shelly, Candice, Nicole, Ashley, and Kristin.

I should get to bed...

Friday Five

What was...

1. ...your first grade teacher's name? Mrs. Austin

2. ...your favorite Saturday morning cartoon? I really liked Scooby Doo, but I'm not sure if it was on Saturday morning.

3. ...the name of your very first best friend? Danielle. We were born on the same day, and we said we were "twin friends."

4. ...your favorite breakfast cereal? Chex. We ate a lot of Chex because they had this deal where if you saved about a millions box tops kids could get a free plane ticket with their parents.

5. ...your favorite thing to do after school? Play outside. When we lived in Sunrise, I liked climbing the tree in the backyard.
